My Story
Get to Know Me
I'm Hilda- An artist, writer, and survivor of a 15 year emotionally abusive relationship. For years, I kept quiet. But silence became too heavy, I found my freedom through storytelling and art, and now I use both to help others find their voice too.
When I Chose to Speak Out
There was a time when I felt completely trapped. I went through the motions each day, emotionally numb from the abuse I was enduring. But as my daughter entered her teenage years, I began to notice his anger and cruel words turning toward her as well. I watched her start to experience the same emotional turmoil I had been silently enduring, and that was my breaking point. I couldn’t let it continue. I found the strength to walk away—not just for myself, but to protect her. I wanted to break the cycle, to show her that this kind of treatment is not acceptable, and to ensure she never believes it’s something she has to live with.
